Meet Dr. Camarena





 ​​Juan Camarena, DDS

Dr. Camarena was born and raised in Southern California where he graduated from Damien High School in 1994. He attended Santa Clara University and Cal State University Long Beach, earning a degree in psychology from SCU and degrees in biology and chemistry from Cal State Long Beach. 

Dr. Camarena continued his education at University of Southern California’s school of dentistry, receiving his DDS degree in 2007. Dr. Camarena was very active in USC’s mobile dental clinic program receiving the Charles and Shirley Goldstein Endowed Community Service Award- For the member of graduating class with outstanding dedication as a student volunteer to continue the vision and reflect the heart of mobile clinic and outstanding efforts to improve the oral health of inner-city children. He also received the Erric Green Award- For the student who excelled over and above the normal provision of dental services and health educational activities in the community. 

After dental school, Dr. Camarena split his time working in private practice and also as a dental professor for USC’s mobile dental clinic and community work. Dr. Camarena helped the underserved in areas such as Visalia, Bakersfield, Escondido, Lindsay, Los Angeles and as far away as Columbia and the Manjushree Orphanage in the province of Tawang, India, providing dental care to people without access to dental treatment.

Dr. Camarena enhances his knowledge with Spear Education, a highly regarded school of thought that focuses on excellence. He also pursues other continuing education courses to provide quality and state-of-the-art treatment options for his patients. 

Dr. Camarena recently moved up to the Central Coast area and is happy with his decision due to the friendly, down to earth people. He likes to spend his free time reading, going to the gym and learning Japanese. He looks forward to meeting every patient and getting to know them.
